  8:30 LI'L MO & LISA'S FIELD OF STARS - $10
this month featuring HOPE NUNNERY, STEVE TARSHIS, HANK BONES, AND MONICA (LI'L MO) PASSIN

hosted by Monica Passin, a monthly series featuring singers, songwriters, and players, and a little talk

HOPE NUNNERY
Born in the woods of South Carolina, Hope Nunnery experienced gospel music from an early age. As a little girl, she listened in awe to the Southern Baptist Church music, and was fascinated by the genre's melodic, melancholy undertones. She has kept this influence tight and close to her heart, adding blues, country, old time and bluegrass to create a cornucopia of pure American roots music. Hope's evocative vocals add credence and seriousness to her lyrics. She sings with an authority that is at times motherly, at times sisterly, infusing the accompanying chords with a sense of urgency that is primal, not hasty. "These are ancient, timeless tunes. Desperate and free. Not blues, not country, not folk: All of those. Something primal and hand-shaped, and thoroughly sophisticated." - Grant Alden, No Depression
http://www.hopenunnery.com/

STEVE TARSHIS
an accomplished musician who has been involved with American roots music as a player, composer and educator for his entire adult life - has been Hope's "partner in crime" for many years now. Inspired by the Delta musicians, particularly Son House, Steve complements Hope's vocals by adding his own voice to the mix, together with an extra dose of melodic, tasty guitar playing. Hope and Steve, who describe themselves as "Son House meets The Carter Family," released their award winning CD, "Wilderness Lounge" in 2007.
http://www.stevetarshis.com/page/page/2850457.htm

HANK BONES
has entertained audiences around the world from London to Tahiti, the Waldorf in NYC to Hendersonville, NC. Hank plays half a dozen instruments and has composed music for film and television, including feature-length movies for Academy Award nominated animator Bill Plympton. He appears on albums by Tom Russell, Barrence Whitfield, and Li"l Mo & the Monicats, among others, as instrumentalist, singer, arranger, producer, recording engineer, or all of the above. He has composed music for at least four drag queens, and is as likely to play rockabilly slap bass as "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" on guitar. He has recently released an album of Hoagy Carmichael songs for solo guitar. In 2000, he and his former band, The Haoles, won the "Best Homegrown CD" award from Acoustic Guitar magazine. Hank relocated from NYC a few years ago and is thrilled to be living in Western North Carolina.

Your host, MONICA PASSIN (aka Li'l Mo) prides herself in the company she keeps. She has studied guitar with Steve Tarshis, produced three Li'l Mo & the Monicats CDs with Hank Bones, and can't wait to sit next to Hope Nunnery. Her new album, soon to be released on the Cow Island Music label, takes the listener on a journey through rock'n'roll, country, blues, 60s pop, cajun/zydeco/r&b, and combinations thereof. "Monica Passin has one of the great country voices, channeling influences like Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn into her own unique style." - Karen Hogg, Acoustic Guitar Magazine

  12 Sometymes Why
Kristin Andreassen, Ruth Merenda and Aoife O'Donovan. www.myspace.com/sometymeswhy

"Watching a Sometymes Why show is like watching a Victorian magic show staged in a luxury hotel orbiting Ganymede. There is an air of friendly sleight-of-hand and a sense of pleasant slippage... One is astonished, often moved, but one can never be sure exactly how these effects are achieved.

Lost in the beauty of the music, one might startle to the presence of so many mere toys on stage. Entranced by the wordplay in the songs, one suddenly realizes that there is more silence than sound. And of course the magic of the three "Lovely Assistants" who of course require no other assistance to spin this spell.

One of my favorite bands ever."

MARCH INSTALLMENT - COUNTRYSOULTWANGTHANG
STARRING BEN CARROLL, CAROLYN SILLS, GERARD EGAN, and your host LI'L MO
CAROLYN SILLS and GERARD EGAN have been performing music together since 2001 most notably with their trio, Boss Tweed, in which Carolyn fronts the band with her Fender bass and lead vocals. Boss Tweed performs original music stemming from the darker side of blues and rock n' roll twang. The trio has toured extensively throughout Europe, the US and Canada and has self-released three records. Over the last three years, Carolyn has been delighting New York audiences with her Patsy Cline review as backed by her ace combo, The Poor Man's Roses. Her sublime vocals and honest interpretation of the classic Patsy Cline catalog have brought her to the stages of the Rodeo Bar, Hill Country and BB King's Blues Club. Most recently, Carolyn has embarked on a new solo project showcasing her vocal ballad talents over a lush back drop of pedal steel, vibraphone, acoustic guitars and Gerard on his trademark Gretsch guitar. Tonight's show at Banjo Jim's will feature selections from Carolyn's soon-to-be-released solo record.

BEN CARROLL's soulful, powerful voice lives somewhere at the crossroads of Stevie Wonder and James Taylor - he's captivating, distinctive, mesmerizing. With the help of his accomplished acoustic guitar playing, he moves his audiences with his plaintive songwriting, written from the heart and with a thoughtful, sometimes keen eye, while exploring the endless themes of love, of a search for a place and meaning in the world. A soul and folk artist at once, Carroll has steadily toured North America and Europe as a solo act since 2004. He released his debut solo album Lover Undercover in 2005 and his followup Real Thing in 2007 (on UK label Blue Cloud Records), which was #1 for five weeks on AAA FM Radio in Ohio and was played on over fifty radio stations in the US and Europe. His songs have also been featured in television and film, most recently in Pier's End Productions' 2008 release "Wake", which premiered at the Tribeca Cinema in New York City (home of the Tribeca Film Festival). Amore Magazine's reader poll voted Carroll a top solo artist, and his songwriting and performances have been celebrated by the New York Songwriters Circle and BMI New York.
Coming from a musical family as the son of Grammy-winning Starland Vocal Band members ("Afternoon Delight", 1976), Carroll enjoyed a rich musical exposure in his childhood, chiefly in the veins of harmony-laden folk and pop of the 70s, and the R&B/Soul/Roots sounds of the deep south. These influences have been naturally integrated into his music, lustrously evoked by his poetic delivery and his voice of startling honesty and beauty.

"One giant rockin' leap for mankind---LI'L MO crooning on her anti-gravity tune-moon, her massively eclectic, don't-fence-me-in music rocketing at us, trailing Gene Vincent vintage, Stax/Volt essence, new/old blues and unpolluted country and western music...her bell-tone voice hypnotizing everyone on the cosmic dance floor...finally down to Earth, we're let in on Mo's brilliant grasp of the whole formidable compendium of American music. And it's total fun, to boot..."------liner notes, by David Silver, writer of The Compleat Beatles, from Li'l Mo's soon-to-be released third album, ON THE MOON (Cow Island Music)

- with Dave Hofstra on bass and Peter Grant on drums

About THE TRIO - I've always loved instrumental music. My trio plays a repetoire of tunes by artists such as Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, and classic instrumentals like Sleepwalk, Last Date, and Cast Your Fate to the Wind. We also do jazz standards like Lullaby of Birdland and Bye Bye Blackbird, Latin tunes and blues tunes of all kinds. I like to think of the music as a cross between the Ventures and Bill Frisell.

ELENA SKYE, AMY ALLISON, LAURA CANTRELL, & MONICA (LI'L MO) PASSIN sing LORETTA LYNN's amazing songs of heartbreak, humor, feminism, sexuality, tragedy, home & hearth
WITH THE EXCELLENT ACCOMPANIMENT OF BOO REINERS ON GUITAR
ELENA SKYE and BOO REINERS founded the Demolition String Band in the late 90's when the two rockers discovered a shared yen for hardcore country and bluegrass music. Skye, from Chicago, and Reiner, from North Carolina, went on to help revive and foster a roots music community in New York City's Lower East Side that still thrives today.
Skye, who sings lead and plays rhythm guitar and mandolin, and Reiner (a Grammy winner for his contribution to The Klezmatics' recent Woody Guthrie album) whose sizzling string work encompasses acoustic and electric guitar and banjo, make music they describe as "hardcorn grindgrass fullbam stompdown twangadelix."
Their recently-released fourth album, Different Kinds of Love (Breaking Records) serves up Skye's classic songwriting sensibility with deep grooves and high-energy. The album is available for download on digital music sites such as Emusic.com and Amazon.com as well as a CD from www.milesofmusic.com and www.breakingrecordsmusic.com.

AMY ALLISON has her fifth solo CD, "Sheffield Streets", coming out in May on the Urban Myth imprint. Produced by Don Heffington, the album features guest artists that include Elvis Costello, Dave Alvin and her father, Mose Allison. www.amyallisonmusic.com

9 - late CITY SONG AND SPEAK, vol. 1 - hosted by RICH PAGANO, $10 cover
Melodic Invention, Interpretation and Monologue from Songwriters and Monologians

featuring:
MAURA KENNEDY
RICH PAGANO
CHRISTINE OHLMAN
KEVIN BENTS
CHRIS CAMPION (with TOM LICAMELI)
monologue: JOE RAIOLA
Please join us for the first of many shows featuring songwriters exploring the more melodic aspects of their original songs. Each songwriter will perform 3 songs in a simple acoustic style: 2 originals and a song "they wish they had written."

Another "songwriters circle?" How is this one different?
Besides a segment put aside for a humorous or socio-political 'monologian,' the emphasis will be on hooks and melodies as well as interpretations of the songs that inspired and influenced the songwriters. The show promises to be entertaining, surprising and memorable. Artist's music/samples will be for sale at the venue.

Artists;
MAURA KENNEDY was born Maura Boudreau in Syracuse NY, home of a fantastic live, original music scene when she was a teenager. She played in many different bands on different instruments while she was in her formative years: bass guitar in punk and heavy metal bands, keyboards and acoustic guitar in a British folk/rock band, guitar and mandolin in a roots-rock band. She's been performing with her now husband, Pete Kennedy since 1993, when she joined Pete as part of Nanci Griffith's backup band (The Blue Moon Orchestra) on a 2 month world tour. When that tour was over, Pete and Maura struck out on their own as The Kennedys, and have been performing, writing and recording ever since. Their tenth duo album, "Better Dreams" was released in 2008. Since then, Maura has been writing and recording solo material, and has been making these songs available for play via her MySpace (www.myspace.com/MauraKennedy), Facebook (www.facebook.com/pages/Maura-Kennedy) and ReverbNation (www.ReverbNation.com/MauraKennedy) pages. Maura is finishing up her debut solo CD, "Parade of Echoes", which she plans on releasing in Spring of 2009.

JOE RAIOLA is comedian, comedy writer, speaker on first amendment and producer. In April he will be touring the Northwest in each of his acclaimed solo shows, Almost Obscene and The Joy Censorship. He is now celebrating his 25th year at MAD Magazine, where he is Senior Editor. Joe is also the Artistic Director of Theatre Within and the creator of the Annual John Lennon Tribute in NYC, the longest running Lennon tribute in the world. www.theatrewithin.org

RICH PAGANO: After years of working behind the scenes to make extraordinary music for and with some of the industry's most revered artists, Pagano, a respected New York sideman, decided it was time to work on a record of his own. Pagano is known for his expertise in producing, recording or playing drums live, with artists including Patti Smith, Rosanne Cash, Robbie Robertson, Ray Davies, Willie Nile, gospel icon Marie Knight, Joan Osborne, Levon Helm, Mott The Hoople legend Ian Hunter and the premier Beatles band The Fab Faux, among others. Now, he steps into the spotlight with his solo debut 'Rich Pagano and the SugarCane Cups', a classic influenced rock and roll record of angst and escapism that aims to, in his words, "take listeners along a journey of being pissed off at politicians, moving on from comforts and codependencies, suicidal thoughts, society's extreme need for distraction, love's transformations and religious freedom." A three-song EP sampler is available now via www.richpagano.com. The full release will be available spring '09.

CHRISTINE OHLMAN: This queen of blue-eyed rock n'soul grew up loving equally the sweetness of a Memphis horn line and the raunch of an electric guitar riff, whether played by Muddy Waters, Keith Richards, or Pop Staples. Teased her blonde hair into a beehive in honor of Ronnie Spector and never looked back, forging a career as a songwriter in the process. She's the current, long-time vocalist with the Saturday Night Live Band who sang at SNL's 25th Anniversary telecast, Bob Dylan's 30th Anniversary bash at the Garden (with George Harrison, Chrissie Hynde and others) and the Central Park Summerstage Tribute To Janis Joplin (fronting both Big Brother & The Holding Company and the Kozmic Blues Band); appears on Grammy nominees A Tribute To Howlin' Wolf (with Taj Mahal and Lucinda Williams) and with Marshall Crenshaw on a critically-acclaimed track for Labour Of Love: The Music of Nick Lowe and Big Al Anderson on Pawn Shop Guitars, as well as with Ian Hunter on his latest, Shrunken Heads; edited Andrew Loog Oldham's autobiography 2Stoned. In 2009, Christine will release The Deep End, featuring special guests (and duet partners) Ian Hunter, Dion DiMucci, and Marshall Crenshaw, plus Levon Helm, G.E. Smith, Andy York, Big Al Anderson, and her band, Rebel Montez. www.christineohlman.net

CHRIS CAMPION (with TOM LICAMELI) Seminal downtown indie rock band Knockout Drops have been touring and putting out music since the mid-nineties and frequently play larger venues in Manhattan like The Bowery Ballroom. In 2007 Knockout Drops lead singer Chris Campion created a theatrical rock-n-roll experience called, "Escape From Bellevue," which was a mixture of autobiographical monologues, Knockout Drops songs, and dazzling multimedia that ran 'off Broadway' at the Village Theater in Greenwich Village. The show was a critical success and had The New York Times raving, "Check your straight jacket at the door and get ready to rock!" As a result of the show's popularity, Chris Campion has written a memoir called Escape From Bellevue: A Dive Bar Odyssey, released on March 19th, 2009 on Gotham/Penguin and is available on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Borders bookstores or wherever books are sold. The Escape From Bellevue cd is available on itunes. Knockout Drops are embarking on a tour of the United States in the fall to support the book and cd. KEVIN BENTS is a producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer-composer. He has recorded and performed with many artists, including Steely Dan, Jewel, Boz Scaggs, Michael McDonald, Defunkt, the Spin Doctors, and the Fab Faux. His recently released solo CD, entitled "The Means" fuses influences from Harry Nilsson, XTC and Donald Fagen and has received stellar reviews (AbsolutePowerpop.com - "Melodic gems"..."Excellent!"). www.myspace.com/kevinbents

  7 Dave Roche
Dave Roche is a lifelong musician whose passionate new recording "Harp Trouble in Heaven" (exquisitely produced by Rob Morsberger) is all about love in the life of a guy who's got his hands full being an involved father while tryng to slog through the daily grind.

"From the mundane to the overwhelming, there's all sorts of harp trouble in heaven. But you're in heaven."
  8 Jason Walker
Jason Walker discovered his voice at an early age coming from a multi-generational gospel music family. Though cradled in the arms of Mahalia Jackson as a child, Walker did not begin formal training until he attended Kenyon College. Jason gravitated to folk singers like James Taylor and Cat Stevens, classical greats Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Paul Robeson, and jazz artists Johnny Hartman and Joe Williams. In 2004, after recovering from brain surgery, Walker was inspired to write and produce his own CD Project. He called on his vast array of musical experiences in Jazz, Gospel, Classical, Sacred and Opera to create a distinct sound: Soul-Folk. This endeavor resulted in the 2008 release of "Just Like You." His unique sound provides a smooth listening experience like no other.

7 Kay Ashley's Get Happy! Hour
Kay will be joined by various members of her 14-piece band during her May residency. This rotating cast of characters will help recreate the big sounds of the new cd "Heliotrope" and lend their improvisational skills to Kay's new songs.

"Kay Ashley's gorgeous, moving "Heliotrope" occupies a charmed point triangulated by Joni Mitchell's "Hejira," Paul Simon's "Graceland," and Nick Drake's "Pink Moon" ... her melodies are instantly memorable yet devoid of cliche ... At once a love letter to Africa, India, and men in her past, "Heliotrope" is a travelogue of the soul-betraying the influence of far-flung cultures while remaining both recognizably American and distinctly universal."

  8:30 Travis Whitelaw
Brash, bold, uncompromising, and never afraid to take a stand against the arbiters of good taste, the "Rockin' Redneck" delivers take-no-prisoners epics with all the subtlety of a semi loaded with hog feed crashing a toll gate. And that's just the ballads. Newly relocated from his native Arkansas to New York City, Travis and his crack band are bringing his tawdry over-the-top tunes to Banjo Jim's!

  7:30 WOODPECKER!
WOODPECKER! originally set out to remake old punk classics (FUGAZI, PROPAGANDI, YOUNG PIONEERS) as bluegrass flyin'-pick fests. Now this Brooklyn six piece is taking that punk influence, wrapping it around a banjo and cello, to create a hybrid of punk and traditional. The song structures and vocal melodies owe a lot to the energy and irreverence of pop-punk bands like SNUFF and the DESCENDENTS, and lyrically, their songs flirt with sentimentality before kneeing it in the balls. http://myspace.com/woodpeckermusic & http://woodpeckermusic.com

"There is life after the Ramones, but who knew that its sound would be bluegrass? Tom Erdelyi, better known as Tommy Ramone, the band's first drummer (and only surviving original member), plays a mean mandolin in this new acoustic duo, singing tautly written songs much like Ramones songs, but with tenderness about the comforts and subtle politics of home life." - The New York Times

  LI'L MO & LISA'S FIELD OF STARS - $10
hosted by Monica Passin, a monthly series featuring singers, songwriters, and players, and a little talk

this month: MAY YOU HAVE A SONG IN YOUR HEART - and oh, the variety!
featuring: ARTY HILL, CRAIG CHESLER, STEPHEN B. ANTONAKOS, and MONICA PASSIN (aka Li'l Mo)
ARTY HILL is a singer/songwriter/guitarist based in Baltimore, Maryland, and currently recording for Cow Island Music. He plays his own brand of honky tonk music, remaining faithful to country's roots, while forging a fun, original blend of old and new. "BAR OF GOLD," his 2008 CD of all original tunes, spent two consecutive months at No. 1 on the Freeform American Roots (FAR) chart. As Jason Ringenberg says in the liner notes "I doubt there is a better country record put out this year...the ghost of Buck is truly honored." Arty's songs have been recorded by the Texas Sapphires (Austin, TX), grammy-nominees The Kenny and Amanda Smith Band, and Jason & the Scorchers. Currently, Cow Island Music's reissue of Arty's first CD with the Long Gone Daddys, "Back on the Rail," is at No. 15 on the FAR Chart ("[Back on the Rail is] salted with tears and steeped in the rich brew of classic country and western that, in the right hands, never loses its power." (John Lewis, Baltimore Magazine). Coming Fall 2009: Arty's tribute to Hank Williams, including songs made famous by Hank, plus 3 new original tunes.

CRAIG CHESLER plays with Tom Clark & The High Action Boys and is a card carrying member of The George Formby Society. He released a solo CD in 2005 and is currently recording new music with the help of many Banjo Jim's regulars.
"Craig...obviously spent much of his youth with his head in his mother's record collection, learning to croon with the masters of the 60's West Coast pop movement..." (Music Shopper UK) ...(he) is an upbeat performer with a love for Brian Wilson-esque chord modulations." (JezebelMusic.com)

HOMEBOY STEVE, nee Stephen B. Antonakos, has played with a succession of American roots bands spanning the last twenty years. Included are the Blue Chieftains, 5 Chinese Brothers and Greg Garing, all of whom he toured with extensively in the States and Europe. Currently he plays with the Dirty Water Dogs, all veterans of the New York City music scene, with their cajun/zydeco sound, splitting the songwriting chores with Neil Thomas (Surreal McCoys, Loup Garou). He also plays with Magges (traditional Greek music), The Plumbers (country) and Love Camp 7 (indie pop).
Homeboy Steve's most recent release is Are We There Yet ?. It includes songs that cater to the roots rock sound he is known for, but also surprising forays into a "Sweet Jane"- type narrative ("Tommy"), pop songs (Room 4 U) and a sea chanty (Red Skies at Night).
Homeboy Steve thinks that there's one or two good songs left that haven't already been written and he presents his attempts to write and perform them accompanied by his guitar.

your host, MONICA PASSIN (aka Li'l Mo of Li'l Mo & the Monicats) has just released her third album, LI'L MO & THE MONICATS ON THE MOON, for Cow Island Music (see ARTY HILL above.) With guest performances by Cajun music ambassador Steve Riley and champion fiddler Gary Mackey (Dolly Parton), it's a rollicking trip through country, rock 'n roll, blues, r&b, and pop.

Hunter Gatherer presents a dynamic mix of country-noir, jazz and blues. The group's leader, Peter Bitenc, originally conceived this band as an instrumental trio for a film that does not exist. Recently, Peter began singing his country/rock songs interspersed with the original instrumental material. The music for Hunter Gatherer was inspired by the disparate sounds of Angelo Badalamenti, Neko Case, and Robert Stillman's Horses. Hunter Gatherer is Peter Bitenc (guitar, voice) Elisabeth McFadden (voice), Hans Holzen (guitar), Carlo Costa (drums), and Kyle Kegerreis (bass).

  8 Kelli Rae Powell
Kelli Rae Powell is an old-timey albeit timely cabaret-style bad girl. Regarding her wry and original tunes, she has been described as a tiny uke-toting red-headed would-be step-child of Billie Holiday and Johnny Cash. Tommy Ramone once called her a "poet" to her face. She invented the Drinkaby: a song that is part lullaby and part drinking song.
  9 Amy Allison
Amy Allison is the daughter of jazz great, Mose Allison. She has been a fixture on the New York scene for almost twenty years, while her timeless songcraft and wholly unique sound have won her press kudos and a cult following in the US and abroad.

Her distinctively affecting vocals and gift for penning heartfelt and piquant songs on personal yet universal themes, have impressed luminaries such as Elvis Costello, who included her album, the Maudlin Years in his list of the "500 Greatest Albums Ever" in the Vanity Fair music issue of November 2000.
10 Li'l Mo - solo with guest Gene Hicks on fiddle and piano
MONICA PASSIN (aka Li'l Mo of Li'l Mo & the Monicats) has just released her third album, LI'L MO & THE MONICATS ON THE MOON, for Cow Island Music.   11 Eleanor Whitmore
Her mom's an opera singer and her dad sings folk songs and plays guitar, so it makes sense that Eleanor Whitmore can play fiddle AND violin. What's the difference you might ask? One night you might see her sitting in a string quartet, and on another, you may see the stage lights shining on her flaming red hair in a rock club, or even playing the mandolin. It means she can play in tune and ... AMAZING!

Eleanor has performed in orchestras with Dianna Ross and Andrea Bocelli. She has toured and performed onstage with Regina Spektor, Slaid Cleaves, Jack Ingram, Chris Masterson, Bruce Robison, Kelly Willis, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Tom Freund, Ana Egge, Susan Gibson, Rod Picott, and Alex and Bonnie Whitmore, just to name a few. She has recorded most notably with Neil Hagerty (Royal Trux), Slaid Cleaves, Bruce Robison, Susan Gibson, Lloyd Maines, and Terri Hendrix.

  7 NYCity Slickers
NYCity Slickers is a 5 piece bluegrass band with a close harmony, hot chick trio. Ranging in style from traditional to contemporary bluegrass, the NYCity Slickers combine classic bluegrass sounds with explosive, hard driving instrumentals and wailing tight harmonies
  8 - 10 The Plunk Brothers
Two guitars and a microphone is the format of choice for Bob Jones and Boo Reiners. The duo known as The Plunk Brothers bring their potent mix of skill, feeling, humor, and a reverence and love for all things Jimmie Rodgers, Delmore Brothers, Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, The Louvin Brothers and more. Their brand new, CD is chock-full of classic songs by these icons of American music as well a Johnny Mercer tune, a song from Kitty Wells (via Del McCoury) and some traditional numbers that show off the Plunk Brothers' keen arranging skills. Also included are a couple of live tracks, some instrumentals, and lots of harmony singing. The Plunk Brothers new CD, at last....

Bob Jones has been a pioneer and mainstay on the acoustic roots music scene in and around New York City for many years now, singing and playing multiple instruments in a wide and eclectic array of genres and traditions. His musical experience, knowledge and skill are surpassed only by his joy of being onstage and giving his all to an audience. He has collaborated onstage and and in the recording studio with klezmer giant Andy Statman, The Wretched Refuse String Band, Danny Kalb (of the Blues Project), The Singing Conquerors and many others.

Boo Reiners is multi-instrumentalist and reluctant singer who has for many years tried to take full advantage of Gotham's musical buffet. The Virginia native is co-leader of Demolition String Band who have toured the U.S. and Europe and recent released their fourth album. He also toured and recorded with The Klezmatics. Their work together, along with Irish recording artist Susan McKeown, culminated in the making of "Wonder Wheel: Lyrics by Woody Guthrie" and the album won a Grammy award. Reiners has also worked with Grand Ol' Opry star Charlie Louvin of the Louvin Brothers
